Retail Innovation Pilots

INNOVATION SYSTEM BUILT

Developed a repeatable retail experience framework, including pilot toolkits, success metrics, and operational playbooks that allowed global stores to leverage local resources, test new concepts quickly and consistently.

CHALLENGE

Retail stores were primarily optimized for legacy footwear sales, leaving untapped opportunities to drive new customer engagement through localized cultural relevance. The challenge was to build an operational model that enables local stores to execute new retail experiences and increase conversion while remaining scalable across global store operations.

SOLUTION

Led a series of retail innovation pilots in high-priority stores before creating an operational model to scale across 65+ global stores. Designed testable concepts based on market insights and built repeatable frameworks—including toolkits, performance metrics, and operational playbooks—to enable local teams to implement and evaluate new retail experiences. The pilots increased accessory sales to 8–10% of store revenue and established a scalable experimentation model that informed future retail innovation initiatives.

KEY INSIGHTS

  • Retail experimentation works best when store teams can easily run tests themselves and localize based on market needs/context. Trust that market leaders know their customers the best.

  • Customers want to feel seen and heard - this can have a powerful business impact when combining core products with localized relevance.

  • Small product adjacencies can unlock meaningful revenue. Accessories became a natural extension of the footwear purchase journey.

  • Innovation scales as operational complexity decreases. Standardized frameworks allowed new ideas to be tested quickly across multiple markets and cultures.
